Our original task was to create a clip that
was under two minutes of a person walking down a corridor and entering a room
using 180 degree rule, shot/reverse shot and matching up cuts. The person then
sits down and exchanges a few lines of dialogue with the other person sat in
the room.
After we were set this task we went on to
planning are story line and shots, we did this through using a storyboard. We
decided draw on the storyboard as visual representation of what was happening
in the scene. We then added a few words to describe the shots used in the
scene, for example we had a shot of Callum’s reaction on what he saw in the bag
in which I gave him. In this shot we
wanted a close up so we notes this in are preproduction, this was also one of
my ideas that I contributed to the group during the creation of the storyboard.
We also had a look at the set we were using for the production. Overall we
combined each other’s ideas and shots to create a full story consisting of the
agenda. (Our Storyboard below)
The group consisted of Callum, Molly, Lee
and Myself (Dan). I found that overall all the members of the group contributed
to the task at hand greatly. From the people using the camera to be the ones being recorded everyone got involved - this therefore helped the group succeed in completing the
agenda.
The production also went successfully too as
we were able to go straight to the set and had no issues with the equipment.
One problem we had was enabling space for the camera. However, this problem was
resolved with the use of the tripod to gives us equal and even shots. We had to
re-record certain shots due to small mistakes - for example the angle wasn't even or we didn't have a smooth pane shot, This helped perfect the
final cut of the clip. In conclusion, Our use of our preproduction time gave a great benefit to the production as we had everything prepared for filming a editing due to the decisive planning.
